[Saba Sports News] Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry may not know exactly what his post-basketball life will look like, but one thing’s for sure — don’t expect him to follow Draymond Green into podcasting.
While Green was recently reminiscing about the Warriors’ past on his podcast, Curry was more focused on envisioning his future.
No need to panic, Warriors fans — Curry isn’t considering retirement just yet. But he did recently explain why starting a podcast isn’t in his plans, according to a clip shared by Jon Youshaei on X (formerly Twitter).
“You won’t see me doing it,” Curry said. “I’ve got a lot of other things I want to do besides being behind the mic every day. If you’re going to do something, you’ve got to be all in. It’s a big time commitment. It’s not something I’m passionate about.”
Podcasting might come naturally to someone like Draymond Green, who’s known for his candor and strong opinions.
Green embraced the role of podcaster well before retirement, using the platform to speak openly throughout the later stages of his playing career. But Curry made it clear he has no interest in entering that space.
Meanwhile, Green recently responded to head coach Steve Kerr’s comments about the Warriors possibly adding a full-time center next season to relieve him of those duties. Green, 35, isn’t offended — in fact, he agrees.
“God bless his heart. It was real,” Green said of Kerr’s comments. “Playing the five is too much. I’m always down for any challenge, but it’s a hard battle every night — guys outweighing me by 60 to 80 pounds and standing several inches taller. I come out strong in the first half, but by the second, you’re worn down. People don’t realize the toll it takes to anchor a defense.”
With the offseason approaching, the Warriors will face important decisions — including how to fill that starting center role moving forward.
