[Jolly Sports News] Veteran NBA writer Marc Stein reported on Friday via his Substack that the Golden State Warriors currently have little interest in trading for Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Zach LaVine.
While the Warriors previously considered pursuing LaVine, Stein indicates their interest has since cooled.
LaVine, an 11-year NBA veteran and two-time All-Star, remains a prolific scorer, averaging 21.6 points this season on a career-best 51.0% shooting.
However, the Bulls have struggled to find a trade partner for LaVine, largely due to his hefty contract, which runs through 2027 at over $43 million annually.
Despite losing Klay Thompson in the offseason and recently suffering another guard setback with a season-ending injury, the Warriors appear unlikely to pursue LaVine.
Currently sitting third in the Western Conference with the NBA’s fourth-ranked defense, Golden State seems content to avoid a major shakeup and the financial burden of LaVine’s contract.
