[Jolly Sports News] Stephen Curry opened up about teaming up with longtime rival LeBron James at the Olympics during an appearance on The Stephen Colbert Show. Reflecting on the experience, Curry admitted that it required a shift in mindset.

“I had to get used to liking that guy after all of our battles,” Curry said. “But it was a confidence boost, and it came at the right time.”

Curry also recalled a surprising compliment from James early in the tournament, which helped lift his spirits during a period of underperformance. The confidence boost seemed to work, as Curry shined in the final two games, scoring a combined 60 points and leading Team USA to victory over Serbia and France.

Reflecting on winning gold in Paris, Curry shared, “I couldn’t even dream of it.” His time with Team USA is an unforgettable memory.

As Curry returns to the Warriors, he faces a challenging season. The team isn’t expected to perform as well, especially after losing Klay Thompson without a strong replacement. Yet, Curry remains confident in the franchise’s potential, which likely influenced his decision to sign a one-year, $62.6 million extension, keeping him with the Warriors through 2027.
