[Jolly Sports News] Now 24, 6-foot-10 Shareef O’Neal played college basketball at UCLA before transferring to LSU, following in his father Shaq’s footsteps.

After overcoming heart surgery in 2018, Shareef went undrafted but joined the G League Ignite in 2022 and previously had a stint with the Lakers during Summer League, his father’s former team.

Though Shaq reportedly disagreed with his decision to turn pro early, Shareef is now closer to his NBA dream.

The Sacramento Kings, where Shaq was once a part-owner, announced they’ve signed and waived Shareef, likely setting him up for a spot on their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings. A video shared by Sean Cunningham shows Shareef (wearing No. 35) practicing with the team.
