[Saba Sports News] Paolo Banchero’s confidence is hitting new levels.
The Orlando Magic secured their biggest win of the season on Sunday, taking down the NBA-best Cleveland Cavaliers 108-103 on the road. Banchero led the charge with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, snapping the Cavs’ incredible 16-game winning streak.
But what really went viral was Banchero’s NSFW message to Cavs fans after the final buzzer. As he walked off the court at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, he turned to the stands and yelled, “I called that s–t! I told you we gonna beat y’all motherf–kers!”
The 22-year-old former No. 1 pick has been on fire lately after missing time earlier this season with an oblique injury. In March, he’s been putting up 31.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, shooting an efficient 51/41/81 split.
At 32-37 (8th in the East), the Magic still have work to do in the standings, but they have four more weeks to climb. Unlike some other NBA stars who talked trash to Cleveland fans before losing, Banchero at least made sure to secure the win before running his mouth.
