[Jolly Sports News] The Phoenix Suns appear to have encountered a significant obstacle in their attempts to facilitate a trade involving Bradley Beal and Jimmy Butler.
Veteran NBA reporter Chris Haynes revealed Wednesday that the Milwaukee Bucks have shown no interest in pursuing a deal for Suns guard Bradley Beal.
Haynes also noted that there is “no connection” between Beal and the Bucks, leaving Phoenix searching for alternative trade partners if they hope to move Beal.
This update is notable given earlier reports suggesting the Bucks might play a key role in a multi-team trade that would send Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler to the Suns.
To make the salaries align, the Suns need to trade Beal, but Miami has reportedly shown no interest in acquiring him. With Beal holding a full no-trade clause, a win-now team like Milwaukee had been seen as a logical destination.
While there are still a handful of teams Beal, a three-time All-Star at age 31, would reportedly approve a trade to, the Bucks’ apparent withdrawal from consideration makes a deal far less likely.
As it stands, the possibility of both Beal and Butler remaining with their current teams through the Feb. 6 trade deadline now seems much higher.
