[Saba Sports News] The bad news keeps piling up for Anthony Edwards.
On Friday, the NBA handed Edwards a one-game suspension after he picked up his 16th technical foul of the season the night before.
Along with the suspension, he was also fined $35,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely manner.
The punishment stems from his actions during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 111-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. Edwards first got hit with a technical after a shoving match with Jarred Vanderbilt at the end of the first quarter.
The two exchanged words as they headed to their benches before things got physical.
Later in the third quarter, Edwards received a second technical for arguing a non-call, leading to an automatic ejection.
On his way off the court, he tossed the ball into the stands, which tacked on the hefty fine.
Before his exit, Edwards had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The three-time All-Star is averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game this season.
Lately, he’s also been making waves with his thoughts on becoming one of the faces of the NBA.
