[Saba Sports News] Miles Bridges isn’t doing himself any favors when it comes to public perception.
The Charlotte Hornets forward went viral this week after confidently declaring on social media that his team would reach the playoffs next season.
“Playoffs next year 💪,” Bridges wrote in his post.
Social media users wasted no time mocking the claim, roasting Bridges for what many saw as an unrealistic prediction. Considering the Hornets just wrapped up a dismal 19-63 season — their worst in years — fans weren’t exactly buying the playoff talk.
Charlotte hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2015-16 season, the longest active drought in the NBA. Though they reached the play-in tournament in 2021 and 2022, the team has been trending downward ever since.
Bridges also remains a controversial figure due to his off-court legal troubles, including a 2022 domestic violence case. That baggage, combined with Charlotte’s bleak recent history, made his post an easy target for online ridicule.
