[Saba Sports News] Cooper Flagg isn’t the only high-profile rookie headed to Dallas.

The Mavericks have signed former Gonzaga guard Ryan Nembhard to a two-way contract, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Nembhard went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft but quickly secured a spot with Dallas.

The 22-year-old point guard led the NCAA in assists last season with 9.8 per game, while also averaging 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. His strong play earned him First Team All-WCC honors.

Ryan is also the younger brother of Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, who emerged as a breakout performer in the 2025 playoffs. Andrew averaged 12.5 points and 4.7 assists on impressive 47/47/80 shooting splits while playing stellar defense against stars like Jalen Brunson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

For Ryan, Dallas presents a promising opportunity. With Kyrie Irving potentially sidelined for the entire 2025-26 season due to a torn ACL — despite recently signing a contract extension — there could be significant guard minutes up for grabs.

Although Dallas had no other picks after selecting Flagg at No. 1 overall, Nembhard could prove to be one of the more valuable undrafted additions of the year.
