[Jolly Sports News] Luka Doncic pushed through a right wrist injury during the Dallas Mavericks’ dominant 132-91 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday but will now miss some time.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Doncic has been diagnosed with a right wrist strain and will be reevaluated in a week, sidelining him for at least the next four games. Despite the discomfort, Doncic still managed 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win. After the game, he downplayed the injury as “nothing serious.”
Doncic also missed Sunday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a right knee issue, which may have influenced the team’s decision to rest him.
Through 14 games, Doncic is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. The Mavericks, now 8-7, are on a three-game winning streak and are taking a cautious approach with their star this early in the season.
