[Saba Sports News] Luka Doncic was caught in a questionable moment during the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the rival Los Angeles Clippers last week.
With 5:01 left in the game, Clippers star James Harden was at the free-throw line, shooting three attempts after being fouled on a three-pointer. After Harden made his first shot, Doncic grabbed the ball and casually wiped sweat off his forehead with it before handing it back.
Official Sha’Rae Mitchell was unimpressed and immediately called a delay of game violation, effectively serving as a warning.
Given her reaction, Doncic was fortunate to avoid a technical foul, as it was clear she wanted nothing to do with the now sweat-covered basketball.
Despite the incident, Harden made all three free throws, but the Lakers still secured a 106-102 victory.
The game coincided with Doncic’s 26th birthday, and he celebrated with a 31-point performance—though his unusual ball-handling tactics didn’t go unnoticed. The Lakers have now won six straight games with Doncic in the lineup.
