[Jolly Sports News] Toronto Raptors legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Vince Carter had his No. 15 jersey retired by the franchise, an event that drew widespread admiration.

Among those congratulating him was Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who posted on X (formerly Twitter): “CONGRATULATIONS VINSANITY!!!! @mrvincecarter15 🫡. DOPE!! ♾️ IMMORTALIZED IN THE 6!!!”

Carter entered the NBA in the 1998-99 season, winning Rookie of the Year, and enjoyed a 22-year career that included eight All-Star selections and two All-NBA team nods. While he never won an NBA title, Carter’s impact was felt across multiple teams.

James and Carter shared many seasons in the NBA, with James debuting in 2003-04. They often faced off during James’ stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat while Carter played for the Raptors and later the New Jersey Nets, where he was also a fan favorite.

Carter’s career continued with stops at Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis, San Antonio, and Atlanta.

Carter’s jersey retirement by the Raptors is a celebration for all NBA fans, marking his enduring legacy, especially with the Raptors and Nets.
