The Lakers announced Wednesday that an MRI confirmed the injury, and Davis will return to Los Angeles for further evaluation in a week. This timeline means he will miss the remainder of L.A.’s road trip, which includes matchups against the Wizards, Knicks, and Clippers.
Davis exited during the second quarter of the Lakers’ 118-104 loss to the Sixers, finishing with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal in 10 minutes.
Before the injury, he had been in top form, totaling 78 points and 36 rebounds across L.A.’s last two victories. He is averaging 25.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per game this season.
The Lakers, who had won four straight before falling to Philadelphia, sit at 26-19. With Davis sidelined, L.A. may feel added pressure to make a move ahead of next week’s trade deadline—something their star big man has already been pushing for.
