[Jolly Sports News] Karl-Anthony Towns is still processing his emotions after being traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Now a New York Knick, Towns appeared on “The Roommates Show” with teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, where he opened up about the surprise trade. He referred to the Timberwolves as his “former employer” and admitted he thought he would retire with the team.

“I thought Minnesota was going to be my home for my entire career, but my former employer didn’t share that view,” said the 28-year-old Towns.

However, Towns expressed respect for Timberwolves exec Tim Connelly, who informed him of the trade in person rather than over the phone.

Drafted first overall in 2015, Towns spent nearly a decade with Minnesota, earning four All-Star selections and sticking with the team through tough seasons. Even as his role shifted with the arrivals of Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert, Towns remained committed and helped lead the Timberwolves to their first conference finals in 20 years last season.

But just like that, the Timberwolves traded him to the Knicks, leaving Towns with mixed feelings as he adjusts to his new chapter in New York.
