[Jolly Sports News] Jimmy Butler is looking for a way out of Miami, but he has some preferences on where he won’t go.
Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix revealed on *The Ryen Russillo Podcast* that Butler has made it clear he does not want to be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies or Sacramento Kings.
“The two teams he has basically been communicating that he didn’t want to go to were the Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings,” Mannix said.
Despite Butler’s stance, Mannix still sees Memphis as a possible landing spot.
The situation between Butler and the Heat has become increasingly strained. The six-time All-Star has only played in 25 games this season and is currently serving his third suspension of the year—this time an indefinite one that extends through the February 6 trade deadline.
At 35, Butler is averaging 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Since joining Miami in 2019, he has led the team to at least three conference finals appearances.
Still, Butler is keeping things light, even joking on social media Wednesday about being “unemployed.”
