[Jolly Sports News] JB Bickerstaff let his frustration fly on Saturday night, delivering a fiery display of passion and profanity.
The Detroit Pistons head coach was ejected in the fourth quarter of his team’s matchup against the Orlando Magic after protesting an offensive foul called on forward Ausar Thompson.
His heated reaction earned him two quick technical fouls and an automatic trip to the locker room.
As he exited, Bickerstaff didn’t hold back, shouting expletives at the referees, including a direct “Hey, f–k you!” to one official and “F–k yourself too!” to another. He punctuated his outburst with animated clapping and more F-bombs as he left the court.
Bickerstaff’s frustration appeared to have been simmering all game, fueled by several no-calls, including a play in the second half where Pistons star Cade Cunningham hit the floor during a loose-ball scramble without drawing a whistle.
Though Detroit fell 121-113 to Orlando, the Pistons have been a pleasant surprise this season, rebounding from last year’s dismal 14-68 record.
Now 23-22 and sixth in the East, Bickerstaff’s fiery coaching style and focus on culture are helping drive the team’s turnaround in his first season at the helm.
