[Jolly Sports News] A new rumor hints that former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers might have a pathway back into the NBA if he’s interested.
On a recent episode of *The Bill Simmons Podcast*, Bill Simmons mentioned some growing “buzz” about Myers potentially joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
Simmons noted Myers’ connection to Sixers owner Josh Harris, pointing out that Myers had previously advised Harris on football hires for the Washington Commanders last offseason.
“Bob Myers helped Washington with the football team. He was on the advisory committee. I just feel like he’s looming with this Sixers thing, and I don’t think I’m alone,” Simmons said. “There’s been some Bob Myers-Philly buzz that I think has been building, because I think he had a good experience with Josh Harris.”
Since leaving the Warriors at the end of the 2022-23 season, Myers has been working as an analyst for ESPN. When he departed Golden State, there was widespread speculation that he might quickly transition to another NBA front office, but that hasn’t materialized.
His connections to Sixers ownership, however, combined with the team’s struggles this season, have fueled new speculation.
Despite adding Paul George in the offseason, the Sixers are just 15-27, dealing with a wave of injuries and ongoing drama surrounding Joel Embiid.
While there’s no indication that team president Daryl Morey is on the hot seat, the team’s disappointing record has naturally led to questions, and rumors about Myers’ potential involvement are gaining traction.
