[Jolly Sports News] After back-to-back first-round exits, Giannis Antetokounmpo promises better times for Milwaukee Bucks fans. In his first statement since their playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers, Antetokounmpo assured fans the Bucks would “get back to where we belong.”

“Milwaukee, THANK YOU!” Antetokounmpo wrote on Instagram. “This season didn’t end the way we wanted, but I promise we will get back to where we belong, and they’re going to give us our damn flowers.”

The Bucks, a No. 3 seed, lost in six games to the No. 6 seed Pacers. This followed their upset by the Miami Heat last season. Antetokounmpo missed the Pacers series due to a left soleus strain.

Antetokounmpo, who led the Bucks to the NBA title in 2021, implied the team would return to championship contention. He recently signed a new extension with the Bucks, keeping him under contract through at least 2027, with Damian Lillard also signed through 2026.

However, the Bucks may need fresh reinforcements as their core players age.

While Antetokounmpo is still young at 29, Lillard turns 34 in July, Khris Middleton will be 33 in August, and Brook Lopez recently turned 36. Some roster updates might be necessary, especially with several veterans seeking pay raises.
