[Jolly Sports News] The rookie guard exploded for 30 points against the Valley Suns in Phoenix while playing for the South Bay Lakers, the G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Bronny led all scorers, shooting 13-of-23 from the field (including three three-pointers) in just 25 minutes. He also contributed three rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block in the game, though the South Bay Lakers fell 106-100.
Bronny’s performance, which included several standout highlights, quickly sparked buzz on social media. Many were impressed by his breakout game, as seen in the reactions below.
What made the scoring outburst even more notable was that it came during Bronny’s G League road debut, following a change in the Lakers’ initial plan to limit him to home games.
Before this game, Bronny had scored a combined 26 points in his first three G League appearances and has averaged just 0.6 points per game in limited NBA minutes this season.
While the G League competition is clearly a step below the NBA, Bronny’s performance is a promising sign of progress in his rookie journey.
