[Saba Sports News] Steph Curry’s latest move at his alma mater had fans cracking the same joke.
On Monday, reports surfaced that Curry had accepted a role as assistant general manager for Davidson’s basketball programs, making him the first active U.S. pro athlete to take an administrative NCAA job.
Alongside his wife Ayesha and other key Davidson supporters, Curry is also helping establish an eight-figure fund to support the school’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Fans on X, however, saw a different angle—joking that even Curry isn’t immune to inflation.
“You know bay [sic] rent bad when Steph Curry need a second job,” one fan quipped.
“Curry got a second job lol. You better cancel that vacation,” joked another.
“Economy so bad even Steph gotta get a second job,” a third chimed in.
Curry is currently in the third year of his $215.4 million contract with the Warriors, earning $55.7 million this season alone. With countless endorsements pushing his annual earnings well past nine figures, he’s certainly not hurting for cash.
But with San Francisco consistently ranking among the world’s most expensive cities, fans couldn’t resist poking fun at Curry’s unexpected new “side hustle.”
