[Jolly Sports News] Former NBA award winner Montrezl Harrell seems to be officially moving on from the league. ESPN’s Olgun Uluc reports that Harrell has signed a short-term deal with the Adelaide 36ers in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL), filling in for injured ex-NBA player Jarell Martin.

There’s potential for Harrell to stay on even after Martin returns.

At 30, Harrell has played seven NBA seasons for six teams. His standout year came in 2019-20 when he won Sixth Man of the Year with the LA Clippers, averaging 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.

However, Harrell, undersized at 6’7″, struggled to find his place in the league, especially after a torn ACL sidelined him for the entire 2023-24 season. Now, he’s looking for a fresh start in Australia, where he’ll have the opportunity for regular playing time.
