[Jolly Sports News] The Chicago Bulls have appointed a new lead assistant with extensive head coaching experience. Wes Unseld Jr., formerly of the Washington Wizards, is set to join Billy Donovan’s coaching staff, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Unseld Jr., who previously served as a long-time assistant to Michael Malone at the Denver Nuggets, managed the Wizards for over two seasons, accumulating a record of 77-130. His tenure in Washington ended after a challenging period that saw the team’s roster significantly weakened, leading to his dismissal following a 7-36 start.

Despite these challenges, Unseld Jr.’s reputation remains intact, with many, including Malone, believing he was unfairly treated by the Wizards. His move to the Bulls comes after their own challenging 39-43 season and a significant reshuffling of their coaching staff.
