[Saba Sports News] Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen won’t be thrilled about what just happened to the banners they fought so hard to raise.

According to *The Chicago Tribune’s* Julia Poe, the Chicago Bulls’ six NBA championship banners will not be on display for the remainder of the 2024-25 season after sustaining damage during a recent concert at the United Center.

The banners reportedly suffered “minor damage” following a metal concert last Saturday featuring Three Days Grace, Sevendust, and Disturbed. Pyrotechnics from the show were positioned directly underneath the banners, causing significant heat damage that warped their bottom halves. Due to the extent of the damage, repairs will take longer than the remainder of the NBA regular season in April.

The Bulls’ six championships, all won in the 1990s, were built on the dominance of Jordan, Pippen, and head coach Phil Jackson. The franchise captured three-peats from 1991-93 and 1996-98, cementing itself as one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.

However, Chicago’s golden era has taken some symbolic hits in recent years. Along with the banner damage, Jordan and Pippen have been publicly feuding, and fans sparked controversy last year by booing late former GM Jerry Krause during a Ring of Honor ceremony while his widow, Thelma, was in attendance.

Now, with their championship banners temporarily out of sight, the Bulls’ past glory feels even more distant.
