[Saba Sports News] Anthony Davis came up big on Wednesday night to keep the Dallas Mavericks’ season alive — and he made sure Kings fans heard about it.
Davis led the way with 27 points in Dallas’ 120-106 play-in tournament win over the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center. With the win, the Mavericks advanced to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday for a shot at the playoffs.
Late in the game, as Davis was subbed out with Dallas holding a comfortable lead, some Kings fans began heckling him from the stands. Davis didn’t hold back, telling them they might want to leave early to beat the traffic — a jab at their team’s looming elimination.
The Kings were bounced from the play-in with the loss, ending their season. Though Sacramento fans started the night trolling Dallas during player introductions, it was Davis and the Mavs who got the last word.
Despite calls to shut things down after trading Luka Doncic and losing Kyrie Irving to a season-ending injury, the Mavericks are still battling — and Davis showed he’s more than ready to lead the charge.
