[Jolly Sports News] The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing back Joel Embiid’s former backup.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the 76ers are reuniting with center Andre Drummond on a two-year, $10 million contract, with a player option for the second year. Drummond confirmed the news on social media, expressing his excitement for a Philly cheesesteak.
A two-time NBA All-Star, one-time All-NBA selection, and four-time rebounding leader, Drummond previously played for the 76ers in the 2021-22 season before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He spent the next two seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
Drummond remains a strong rebounder, averaging 8.4 points and 9.0 rebounds in just 17.1 minutes per game last season. He is expected to have a similar bench role with the 76ers, who hope he can minimize his Shaqtin’ A Fool moments during his return.
