[Jolly Sports News] The LA Clippers-Philadelphia 76ers connection seems to be ongoing.

Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reported that the 76ers are interested in signing veteran forward Marcus Morris Sr., who is currently a free agent after finishing last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Morris, a Philadelphia native, spent part of the 2023-24 season with the 76ers before being traded. He has a notable history with nine-time All-Star Paul George, recently signed by the 76ers. Morris and George were teammates on the Clippers from 2020-23 and reached the Western Conference Finals in 2021.

Despite his defensive struggles and poor rebounding for his position, the 34-year-old Morris is a reliable scorer, shooting 40.3 percent from three-point range last season. He even scored 25 points for Cleveland in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers are looking to strengthen their roster around their new Big Three of George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, especially after the departures of Tobias Harris and Nicolas Batum. This opens up a potential role for Morris as a veteran scorer.
