[Saba Sports News] Zion Williamson has once again demonstrated his game-changing ability since returning from injury, and it appears teams across the NBA are keeping a close eye on the New Orleans Pelicans star.

Williamson rejoined the Pelicans in January after missing two months with a hamstring injury. Despite playing a career-low 28.5 minutes per game, he’s putting up 24.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists — better numbers than most players in the league.

While injury concerns will always be part of the conversation, Williamson’s talent is undeniable, making him an intriguing trade asset.

On the latest episode of The Hoop Collective podcast, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Tim MacMahon discussed the possibility of Williamson being moved this summer. Windhorst noted that the Pelicans’ approach has been to “ramp him up and restore his value, whether that’s for New Orleans or another team.” MacMahon added that multiple teams would have “significant interest” if the Pelicans made Williamson available.

“There’s some teams that would have significant interest,” MacMahon said.

The key question in any Williamson trade scenario would be the return. The 24-year-old is in the second year of a five-year, $197 million contract, but the deal includes team-friendly protections. While money wouldn’t be a major issue, teams might hesitate to give up major assets due to Williamson’s injury history.

At least one notable team reportedly showed interest before the trade deadline, and if the Pelicans explore the market this summer, they should have plenty of suitors for the former Duke star.
