Despite Tyler Herro’s 40-point effort, Miami couldn’t capitalize, even with Dallas missing key starters. The Heat also struggled against the Oklahoma City Thunder, blowing a 21-point lead as OKC went on a 24-0 fourth-quarter run.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra acknowledged the team’s frustration and urgency, but remains confident in turning things around.
Herro, Miami’s lone All-Star, also stressed the need for better energy and effort to avoid more late-game collapses.
With 18 of their final 29 games at home, the 25-28 Heat have a chance to reset. They return to action Feb. 21 against the Raptors, hoping the break provides much-needed rest and focus.
