[Jolly Sports News] Steph Curry might not seem like a big trash-talker, but Anthony Edwards insists otherwise.
Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Curry’s Golden State Warriors 107-90 at the Chase Center on Friday night. Edwards led all scorers with 30 points, while Curry managed 23 points on 6-of-17 shooting in the loss.
After the game, Edwards spoke with ESPN’s Nicole Briscoe, who asked about Curry’s influence on his three-point shooting and the exchange they had during the game.
“We were talking a little trash tonight,” Edwards revealed. “After the game, I was yelling at him like, ‘Yeah!’ and he was like, ‘Right back,’ because we play them again in a day and a half.”
When Briscoe questioned Curry’s trash-talking skills, Edwards assured her the Warriors star knows how to dish it out. “He be trash-talking out there for sure,” Edwards said.
The Timberwolves have been on a roll, recovering from a tough November stretch with four straight wins to improve to 12-10. Meanwhile, the Warriors are struggling, losing six of their last seven games to fall to 13-9.
As for Edwards, his three-point shooting has shown major improvement, averaging 4.5 makes on 10.5 attempts per game at a career-high 42.2%—proof the Curry influence is paying off.
