[Saba Sports News] The NBA is gearing up to give fans a major dose of nostalgia as it prepares to return to NBC next season.
According to Jessica Golden and Alex Sherman of CNBC, the league is working to revive the beloved TV show “NBA Inside Stuff.”
Earlier this week, the NBA filed two new trademark applications for the name, after its previous trademarks had expired. NBC is reportedly on board too, with plans to launch a refreshed version of the show.
“NBA Inside Stuff” first hit the airwaves in 1990 and quickly became a staple for basketball fans, blending highlights, behind-the-scenes access, and player features. The show was most famously hosted by Ahmad Rashad, who held the role until 2006.
After NBC lost NBA broadcast rights in 2002, the show moved to ABC until 2006. It was later revived on NBA TV from 2012 to 2016 with Grant Hill and Kristin Ledlow as co-hosts.
Now, with the NBA’s official return to NBC set for the 2025–26 season—the first time in over 20 years—the revival of “NBA Inside Stuff” appears to be part of a broader effort to bring back the magic of the original “NBA on NBC” era. There are even whispers that another fan-favorite throwback could be coming along for the ride.
