[Jolly Sports News] One of the NBA’s most overlooked scoring talents could be on the move ahead of the trade deadline.

Sam Amick of The Athletic reported Tuesday that Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas is viewed as a trade candidate as the February deadline approaches.

Thomas and the Nets failed to agree on a contract extension during the offseason, setting the 23-year-old up for restricted free agency this summer.

Thomas is enjoying a breakout season, averaging 24.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. His scoring average ranks 14th in the league, placing him ahead of stars like Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Devin Booker, LeBron James, and Steph Curry.

Renowned for his three-level scoring and ability to hit tough, off-balance shots, Thomas is a dynamic offensive player. However, his high usage rate and limitations as a playmaker present challenges for the Nets.

Currently sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference at 5-9, the Nets may prefer to trade Thomas rather than commit to a substantial contract in the offseason. Along with Thomas, reports suggest Brooklyn could explore moving at least three other key players as they reassess their roster strategy.
