[Saba Sports News] LeBron James has reached yet another historic milestone.

On Tuesday, James surpassed the 50,000-career points mark with a first-quarter three-pointer in the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans. That bucket brought his combined regular season and postseason total to 50,002 points.

If it feels like James is constantly breaking scoring records, that’s because he is. Just over a year ago, he became the first player to reach 40,000 regular-season points. His career postseason tally of 8,162 points helped propel him to the 50,000 mark with another full season’s worth of games.

Reaching 50,000 points is impressive enough, but what makes it even more remarkable is the gap between James and second place. After hitting that three, he was 5,851 points ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Now 40 years old and in his 21st NBA season, James is still performing at an elite level, averaging 24.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. He also recently claimed the Western Conference Player of the Month award, proving that even after two decades, he’s far from slowing down.
