[Saba Sports News] Kyrie Irving is down but far from out.

On Tuesday, the devastating news broke that the Dallas Mavericks star will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL in his left knee. Irving sustained the injury during a loss to the Sacramento Kings the night before.

A few hours after the announcement, the nine-time All-Star went live on Instagram to address fans. In a nearly six-minute video, Irving reassured supporters that he will return stronger than ever.

“This one hurts for sure,” Irving admitted. “It’s painful to deal with this at this point. But at the same time, how I’ve been built … dealing with pain and suffering is just as important as dealing with all the positivity and happiness. Accepting what comes with this is the next step for me.”

Despite the setback, Irving made it clear that his journey is far from over.

“I will be OK moving forward,” he declared. “I will be back. I will be better … This is not the end of the story. This is just the beginning of a new chapter. Injuries are part of the business … Don’t let anybody ever tell you to give up. Don’t you dare give up on yourself.”

Irving also expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming support he has received from fans and fellow players. You can watch his full video below.

Recovering from a torn ACL is one of the toughest challenges for any athlete, especially for Irving, who turns 33 later this month and relies heavily on his explosiveness and agility.

With his season officially over—and a potential lengthy rehab ahead—Irving faces a major decision regarding his $44 million player option for the 2025-26 campaign.

For now, though, his focus is on recovery, and he has already received countless messages of encouragement, including one from former teammate Luka Doncic.
