Kyle Kuzma Shares Bizarre Encounter with Former Teammate

[Saba Sports News] Friday night’s matchup between the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks featured a bizarre moment for newly traded forward Kyle Kuzma.

Facing his old team just weeks after being dealt to Milwaukee, Kuzma found himself in an odd exchange with former teammate Bilal Coulibaly during the Bucks’ 104-101 victory.

The mix-up happened after Wizards big man Alex Sarr blocked a shot, prompting Coulibaly to congratulate him. Out of sheer habit, Kuzma instinctively dapped up Coulibaly as well.

“One time in the first quarter, it might have been Alex, he might have blocked a shot. Bilal came over to dap him up,” Kuzma recalled via AP’s Noah Trister. “Then I dapped up Bilal, just by instinct. It was weird.”

Kuzma, who had been with the Wizards since 2021, was their longest-tenured player before being traded in early February. While his time with Coulibaly—Washington’s 2024 first-round pick—was brief, old habits clearly lingered.

Ultimately, Kuzma had the last laugh, leading Milwaukee with 19 points in the win. Since joining the Bucks, he has averaged 16.2 points per game over six contests.

Milwaukee now sits at 31-24 on the season. While Giannis Antetokounmpo keeps them in the championship conversation, the Bucks are still searching for their rhythm as the playoffs approach.
