[Jolly Sports News] Kevin Durant celebrated a clutch basket in Friday’s game with a rather unconventional move—pretending to stab himself.
The Phoenix Suns star went viral for his unusual sideline reaction after teammate Royce O’Neale drained a critical three-pointer late in the fourth quarter to secure a win over the Utah Jazz.
Following O’Neale’s shot, the camera cut to Durant on the bench, mimicking a stabbing motion across his body with an imaginary knife—a dramatic way of signaling that the shot was a “dagger.”
Durant’s peculiar celebration quickly made the rounds online. The game marked his return to action after being sidelined for over a week with a sprained ankle. He didn’t disappoint, finishing with 30 points and eight assists as the Suns improved to 13-11.
While Durant has been fined by the NBA in the past for his behavior toward others, this self-directed flair probably keeps him in the clear—at least for now.
