[Saba Sports News] Kevin Durant had time to clap back at Skip Bayless on Sunday.
The former FS1 host took aim at the Phoenix Suns star this week, questioning Durant’s mindset and suggesting he’s no longer fully locked in.
On an episode of his self-titled podcast, Bayless claimed Durant looked “mentally semi-retired” and seemed more focused on an upcoming documentary about his life than on basketball.
Durant didn’t let that slide. On Sunday afternoon, he fired back at Bayless on X with a ruthless response.
“F–k it, We’re both washed, it was a great run @RealSkipBayless,” Durant wrote (profanity censored).
He also mocked Bayless’ choice of words, saying, “Mentally semi-retired. One u skip Stan’s [sic], explain what that means like I’m in 3rd grade please.”
Durant’s jab may have been a dig at Bayless’ declining relevance, as the longtime commentator left FS1 last year and no longer has the same major platform.
While Durant still boasts elite individual stats this season (26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game), the Suns are struggling with a 29-34 record, currently outside even the play-in tournament. Many expect this to be Durant’s final season in Phoenix.
This latest exchange is just another chapter in the ongoing tension between Durant and Bayless. The two have a long history, with Durant frequently calling out Bayless over the years—even when Bayless tried to praise him.
