Kelly Williams reached the 5,000 rebound milestone, following Fajardo for the record

The former MVP scored his 5,000th career rebound in Tropang Giga’s 104-88 win over Kinnimbula.

 

Williams did it early in the first quarter and finished with four rebounds for a total of 5,003,

 

Williams, 42, became the 13th player in the PBA’s 49-year history to achieve the feat and second only to June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beer on the active roster, According to PBA chief data officer Fidel Mangonon III.

 

In the same event this season, Fajardo grabbed 21 rebounds in a 113-112 win over Rain or Shine in the group stage, lifting his career total to seventh in league history, Surpassed 1981 MVP Philip Cezar’s 5,834 rebounds.
