[Saba Sports News] The Detroit Pistons are back. After a miserable 14-win season, they have completely turned things around and are on track for their first playoff appearance since 2018-19.
Their 106-97 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night pushed them to 32-26, marking their seventh straight win.
Leading the charge, as usual, was Cade Cunningham. The rising star delivered 32 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, further solidifying his case for an All-NBA nod.
With season averages of 25.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 9.5 assists, Cunningham is proving to be a legitimate superstar lifting the Pistons alongside him.
His stellar play is turning heads across the league, with Clippers star James Harden being the latest to take notice.
“He’s finally healthy, finally has some pieces he can work with—shooting, bigs, defenders—and the result is he’s playing like one of the best players in the league,” Harden said via The Athletic’s Law Murray. “Kudos to him, he’s done an unbelievable job this year, and he’s gonna continue to get better.”
After battling injuries and instability in his first two seasons, Cunningham is now thriving in a more structured environment. With Detroit clicking on all cylinders, it seems the best is yet to come for their franchise star.
