[Jolly Sports News] Just over a year after being laid off by ESPN, Jalen Rose is making a return to the airwaves with a significant new opportunity.
Reported this week that Rose has landed a prominent role with NBC Sports, where he will be part of their coverage of Big Ten men’s basketball.
Starting this Friday, Rose will serve as a studio analyst on Big Ten College Countdown, which airs on NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
The 51-year-old Rose confirmed the news on his X page, writing, “Excited to join @NBCSports.”
A former member of Michigan’s iconic “Fab Five,” Rose starred in the Big Ten during his college days before playing in the NBA from 1994 to 2007.
After retiring, he transitioned to broadcasting, spending 16 years with ESPN (2007-2023) on programs like NBA Countdown, Get Up!, and the radio show Jalen & Jacoby.
Rose’s time at ESPN came to an end in June 2023 during widespread layoffs, a move that drew attention due to its abruptness.
Recently, Rose made headlines for a funny courtside moment at an NBA game, and now he’s officially set to reestablish himself
