[Saba Sports News] Ja Morant returned from his shoulder injury on Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but his performance did little to ease concerns about his health.

Having missed two games due to persistent shoulder soreness, Morant appeared to be in discomfort at times and struggled with his shooting, going just 8-for-22 from the field.

After the game, the Memphis Grizzlies star admitted he may have rushed his return and raised alarms by suggesting that the issue could linger all season.

“Terrible,” Morant said via Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “I should have been out. But I was out there. Regardless of out, in—there’s going to be something said.”

When asked if the injury would continue to be a problem, Morant’s response was a concerning “I don’t know.”

Since the start of the year, Morant has been shooting just 40.8 percent from the field and has missed 12 of the Grizzlies’ last 30 games.

His struggles on the court suggest the injury is taking a toll, and it doesn’t seem likely to improve anytime soon. Playing through pain despite feeling like he shouldn’t be on the floor is far from ideal for both Morant and the Grizzlies.

With Memphis on a four-game losing streak and Morant’s frustrations mounting, their playoff hopes in a stacked Western Conference look increasingly bleak unless he can regain full health quickly.
