[Jolly Sports News] The Milwaukee Bucks are hitting their stride this season, thanks in large part to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP-caliber performance. Night after night, Antetokounmpo is delivering double-doubles, dominating on both ends of the court.
Wednesday’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs was no exception. In a marquee showdown featuring Antetokounmpo and rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama, Giannis led the Bucks to a commanding 121-105 victory with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists.
The performance marked his 432nd career double-double, breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s franchise record for the Bucks.
This win secured Milwaukee’s second straight victory and showcased their resurgence following a rocky start to the year. After surprising losses to the Nets and Trail Blazers in early January, the Bucks are back on track, climbing out of their early-season slump and solidifying their playoff position in the Eastern Conference. With momentum building since their NBA Cup Championship, they’re now above the play-in threshold and poised for a strong postseason push.
Antetokounmpo’s season is nothing short of historic. Heading into Wednesday, he was averaging 31.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game while shooting over 60% from the field.
Alongside Damian Lillard, who is finding his rhythm, and a healthy Khris Middleton, the Bucks have become a formidable offensive force. Giannis’s defensive presence ensures they remain competitive on both ends, making Milwaukee a team no one wants to face in the playoffs.
If Antetokounmpo continues this level of play, another MVP award and deep postseason run could be within reach for the Bucks.
