[Saba Sports News] Retired NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has long been known for his love of pranks, but according to former teammate Jason Richardson, one stunt involving Lou Amundson crossed the line in a truly revolting way.
During a recent appearance on Entirely NBA, Richardson shared how Shaq would regularly mess with Amundson during their time on the Phoenix Suns, starting with relatively harmless antics—like hiding Amundson’s bike around the arena.
But when Amundson tried to retaliate, things escalated into something much worse.
“I warned Lou, ‘This is Shaq. He does crazy stuff. He’s the type to take a dump in people’s shoes and magazines,’” Richardson recalled.
Amundson didn’t take the warning seriously—and paid the price.
According to Richardson, Shaq later walked into the locker room completely naked, pulled a mouthpiece out of his backside, and placed it in Amundson’s locker. But that wasn’t the worst of it.
“Shaq took Lou’s toothbrush, went to the bathroom, and stirred it in his s–t,” Richardson said. “We were all like, ‘This is getting out of hand.’”
Unaware of what had happened, Amundson later checked into a game—wearing the very same mouthpiece —sending the Suns’ bench into hysterics. When he returned to the locker room, teammates finally broke the news.
“Matt Barnes told him, ‘Anything in your locker has probably been in Shaq’s (butt), throw it all away,’” Richardson added.
Shaq’s pranking reputation is legendary, but this story might just be the most outrageous one yet. Maybe Charles Barkley and the Inside the NBA crew should think twice before messing with the Big Diesel.
