[Jolly Sports News] Brian Windhorst made it clear he doesn’t see an NBA comeback in Dwight Howard’s future—but the eight-time All-Star wasn’t having it.

Windhorst went viral Tuesday after reacting in disbelief when Stephen A. Smith suggested the Lakers should sign Howard to address their frontcourt depth.

Smith argued that Howard is still in great shape and could help on the boards, but Windhorst wasn’t convinced.

Howard, however, fired back quickly on social media with a savage four-word response, “Layoff the burgers windy.”

The 39-year-old still believes he has something to offer NBA teams, even pitching himself to the Lakers last month. With Anthony Davis now gone after the Luka Doncic blockbuster trade, the Lakers’ frontcourt is even thinner.

Howard last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season before heading to Taiwan’s T1 League. While there’s a reason he hasn’t landed another NBA job, he’s not ready to accept it—and Windhorst just happened to be the latest target of his frustration.
