[Jolly Sports News] Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has publicly apologized to former teammate Jordan Poole, now with the Washington Wizards.

Green took to social media to express regret, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “I really am sorry.”

The apology comes after Poole, reflecting on his time with the Warriors following their 122-114 loss to Golden State on Saturday, made comments that hinted at lingering tensions.

“Yeah, I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there,” Poole told reporters, as quoted by NBC Sports.

“A really good group. A really good staff. Shout out to the fans. I saw a lot of 3 jerseys out there, a lot of JP3 jerseys, which is always really cool. I always get a lot of love [here]. I spent some good quality time here, and it’s dope to see it appreciated.”

Green and Poole’s relationship became strained after an alleged physical altercation during a 2022 Warriors practice, where Green reportedly punched Poole. Reflecting on the incident, Green has repeatedly acknowledged his misstep.

On The Two Cents Podcast, he called it “one of my biggest failures as a vet,” noting that Poole had trusted him as a mentor.

“It took me to go through that failure with Jordan Poole, someone who chose his locker to be next to me because he wanted to learn from me. [He] was someone I would spend time with and pour into, and I [f–ked] it all up,” Green admitted.

Known for his fiery demeanor and physicality on the court—earning him nicknames like “Draymond ‘Flagrant 2’ Green”—the veteran forward seems to genuinely regret his actions.

Whether this latest apology will mend the relationship remains to be seen, but it’s clear Green is attempting to make amends.

The Warriors will next face the Boston Celtics on Monday.
