[Jolly Sports News] Damian Lillard doesn’t seem to hold much affection for his former fanbase these days.
The Milwaukee Bucks star sparked attention this week with a comment he left on an Instagram post from a Portland Trail Blazers fan page. The post featured a meme that read, “When someone brings up how Dame isn’t doing well on the Bucks,” paired with a quote from the 1995 cult classic Friday: “What the f— that gotta do with me.”
Lillard responded by commenting, “Fake a– mfs” (edited for profanity), which quickly went viral.
This reaction marks a surprising shift for the 34-year-old Lillard, one of the most beloved players in Blazers history. He spent 11 seasons with the team, made eight All-Star appearances, and solidified himself as a franchise legend.
However, his blunt response suggests lingering frustration, even over something as seemingly trivial as a meme.
The tension might stem from how some Blazers fans reacted to Lillard’s trade request two offseasons ago. Although he penned a heartfelt letter to Portland after being traded to Milwaukee in 2023, certain segments of the fanbase were critical of his exit.
Lillard’s comment could reflect lingering bitterness over the backlash he’s received since leaving the team he gave so much to.
