[Jolly Sports News] Fans of Inside the NBA know that Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal rarely see eye to eye. But on Thursday, the two were in complete agreement about what they saw as a glaring All-Star snub.

While announcing the reserves for the Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars, the Inside the NBA crew weighed in on the biggest omissions. Barkley immediately pointed to Los Angeles Clippers guard Norman Powell.

“A guy like this, he’s been a really good player in this league for a long time. He’s having a career year. He’s been the second-best player on the Clippers,” Barkley said. “That team has shocked everybody … I would love to see him get rewarded. I feel bad, but I love Norman Powell.”

Shaq, though often quick to challenge Barkley, actually agreed.

“I would painfully say I have to agree with Chuck. (Powell) is playing excellent basketball. Guys like that should be rewarded,” Shaq said. “Whether he makes it or not, he’s definitely an All-Star in my eyes.”

Powell’s omission is surprising, given his standout season. The veteran guard is averaging 24 points per game while shooting an impressive 43.5% from three, helping the Clippers exceed expectations.

With a stacked Western Conference field that includes Anthony Edwards, Anthony Davis, James Harden, and Victor Wembanyama, All-Star roster spots were tough to come by. Still, many feel Powell deserved a spot, and Barkley and Shaq made sure to voice their support.
