[Saba Sports News] Cleveland Cavaliers guard Ty Jerome has been slapped with a $25,000 fine by the NBA for his harsh criticism of officiating in Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Cavs’ sixth man didn’t hold back, calling the referees “really bad” and singling out 6th-year official Natalie Sago as being “especially” poor during Cleveland’s 133-129 comeback win at Rocket Arena. The game saw a staggering 53 fouls called, leading to 70 free throws—nearly double the league average.

Cleveland entered the contest riding a nine-game winning streak but found itself down by 18 points late in the third quarter. Jerome played a crucial role in the rally, scoring 18 of his 25 points in the second half while also notching a career-high six steals.

De’Andre Hunter, Jerome’s former Virginia teammate, led all scorers with a season-high 32 points.
