Bulls Shopping Two Star Players

[Jolly Sports News] The Chicago Bulls are reportedly looking to accelerate their rebuild by trading star guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

A key motivation for the Bulls is retaining their 2025 first-round pick, currently top-10 protected, which could otherwise go to the San Antonio Spurs due to the 2021 sign-and-trade acquisition of DeMar DeRozan.

With the 2025 draft expected to feature an exceptionally talented class, the Bulls are keen to avoid losing out.

LaVine, despite his scoring ability, presents trade challenges with a $43 million cap hit, a history of injuries, and two more years (one being a player option) on his contract.

Vucevic, while more affordable and on a shorter deal, just turned 34, which may limit his appeal.

The Bulls’ push to trade LaVine began in earnest during the offseason but has yet to yield results.

Coming off a 39-43 season, Chicago risks losing its pick if it hovers near a similar record. Success in moving their top players might hinge on whether they lower their asking price.
