[Jolly Sports News] Golden State Warriors’ Buddy Hield erupted in the second half Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, partly thanks to a halftime pep talk from TNT’s Reggie Miller.
After struggling with a 1-for-8 first half, Hield exploded for 25 points in the second, including 19 in the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 124-106 win. He hit all six of his three-pointers in the half.
Broadcaster Kevin Harlan hinted Miller played a role, and Miller admitted to a halftime “conversation” with Hield. Postgame, Hield revealed the advice: “He told me to shoot the blanking ball.”
Hield has been a strong addition for the Warriors, scoring 20+ points in three of four games and shooting an impressive 55.6% from three.
