During Wednesday’s game, Lakers star Anthony Davis had a viral moment with Tee Morant, the father of Grizzlies guard Ja Morant. Sitting courtside, Tee kept the trash talk flowing all night, aiming plenty of jabs at Davis and the Lakers.
However, Davis had the last word, posting 21 points, 14 rebounds, and hitting a clutch three-pointer in the fourth quarter.
After sinking the shot, Davis immediately turned to Tee and fired back with some trash talk of his own. During a timeout, Davis even walked over to Tee to keep the playful exchange going.
Ja Morant, sidelined with a hip injury, wasn’t part of the action, but his father has become a fixture at Grizzlies games, always finding a way to command attention.
The Lakers and Grizzlies, who clashed in the 2023 playoffs, have developed a lively rivalry. While the drama between the two teams is often intense, Wednesday’s back-and-forth between Davis and Tee was a lighthearted highlight compared to their past fiery encounters.
